A Book Launch Pajama Party

I love writing novels and short stories, but ever since I became a mom, I’ve also discovered my love for writing and creating children’s books.

In 2012, I started Sammy’s Books—a collection of beginner books for young children. “Goodnight World” is the first title from the collection. It was published in December 2012.

Today, I am excited to announce that Sammy’s Books will be launching the Mini Story Series and the First Book Series in just a few days.

Mini Story Series: The lovable characters, word repetition, and rhymes will teach and encourage your child to read, as they chuckle along and flip the pages. For children 2-5 years old.

First Book Series: The vibrant designs and bold illustrations will help your child focus and master their alphabet, numbers, colors, and more, in no time. For babies and toddlers.

  1. Congratulations Corey. Great job! Just wondering if you could tell me what the process was like. I have a back burner idea for a picture book, and am conceptualizing the text. Was it hard to work out the pictures to include, or did you have someone else work on that part of the project. Anyway thanks again, I really enjoy your posts.

    1. Thanks, Melissa! Fortunately and unfortunately, I did everything myself. The process was a bit crazy because of two things: 1. I wrote, illustrated, and designed the books; and 2. I had a tight deadline. Whether you’re doing the illustrations yourself or hiring an illustrator, the best thing to do is to write and edit the text first. Once you’re done with that, you can focus on the illustrations and the design.
Picture books are fun projects. Best of luck to you! ☺
